Logan & James’s Lakeside Austin Wedding

It was a beautiful afternoon in Austin on Lake Travis when Logan & James promised eternity to each other. The couple chose to rent some property with a two story dock for their intimate wedding.

The wedding party gathered and prepared in the house that overlooked a small canyon and the lake. After hiking up and down the equivalent of 21 floors (I had to check my fitbit), the wedding party was seated and ready. James and Logan walked down the isle escorted by their mothers. What a special pre-Mothers Day Gift!

The wedding was helped put on by all the couple’s friends and family. They arranged flowers and officiated the wedding. Their officiant, a friend, was funny and poised. She was the best officiant I have had the pleasure of listening to.

After the ceremony, the guests cleared the deck so they could party and dance on the water. The joy was contagious as Logan and James danced well into the night.

Congratulations!!

David & Katie’s New Years Country Wedding

As the weather turned from warm to frigid on New Years eve, David & Katy were preparing to tie the knot in their family’s property in Cat Springs, TX.

With tents tied down, space heaters blasting warm air and friends and family gathered around the twinkle-light alter they were ready for forever. Katie’s two daughters (and maids of honor) walked her down the aisle.

What really tugged at my heart strings during this blended wedding was the vows. Not only the vows to each other, but David and Katie made vows to each other’s children too. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house by the end of the ceremony.

After everyone warmed up and ate dinner, the family had a display of fireworks before the dancing commenced. David & Katie ended their night to sparklers and ringing in the new year as husband and wife.

Bruce & Kayla’s White Oaks on the Bayou Spring Wedding

Bruce & Kala’s spring wedding at White Oaks on the Bayou marks my first wedding for the year, and boy did they knock it out the park!

It’s that time of year when the weather warms and the spring buds show. This is one of my favorite (and least favorite) times of the year. It’s my favorite time for weddings, but oh man does this season really like to mess with my allergies.

Bruce & Kala’s spring wedding at White Oaks on the Bayou marks my first wedding for the year, and boy did they knock it out the park!

Kayla and her bridesmaids got ready in these adorable flower patterned silk robes that Kayla’s mom found in Taiwan. They opened some bubblie and had a blast getting ready at White oaks on the Bayou. What’s the best way to put on makeup? With a glass of champagne in your hand, that’s what!

The wedding was perfect! Bruce and Kayla married outside in front of a circlet of roses and pink carnations with the soft, warm breeze whispering through their hair. Birds chirped off in the distance and the little stream that runs past the property burbled quietly.

After the sun dipped below the horizon, the fire pit was lit and guests migrated toward the flames to sit and chat or to make some delicious S’mores. The night ended in a sparkler exit and a final kiss from the happy couple.

Ariana’s White oaks on the Bayou Bridal Portraits

Happy Wedding Day to Ariana & Hunter!

I can’t believe this day is finally here. I am sure after all of their hard work, Ariana & Hunter can’t either.

As it is my tradition to keep bridal portraits under lock and key until after the wedding day– for obvious reasons– I am starting a new tradition. I’m sharing the bridal session on the wedding day, after Hunter has had his chance to see Ariana first.

A little over a month ago, I met up with Ariana, her mother and sister, Sophia at White Oaks on the Bayou out in Simonton. It was a pretty steamy May afternoon. Luckily, we were able to take the majority of the bridal portraits inside the White Oaks venue. We only ventured out for a few minutes at the end. Thank God for the breeze!

Ariana’s mom and Sophia were such a huge help! I couldn’t have gotten half of the amazing photos I did with out their help. Also, I probably would have fallen off Betsy, my ladder, if it weren’t for their assistance.

Ariana looked stunning in that lace adorned mermaid gown. I’m especially obsessed with the crystal and rose-gold belt. The belt matched Ariana & Hunter’s ring perfectly. In fact, her necklace and earnings were also the same breathtaking rose-gold color. The long veil put the look over the top. I loved that the veil was just a little longer than her train. Can you believe she bought if off someone on Facebook!? Ariana made that dress look good! I wish I could pull off the mermaid look.

Lades and gentlemen, here’s what the future wedding trends are going to look like. Let us know what you think about the bridal portrait session or just congratulate the happy couple on just now tying the knot, literally.
