Crystal & Melissa’s Texas Town Hall Wedding

Crystal and Melissa had a rainbow themed wedding at the Texas Town Hall on April Fools day.

It was such a pretty spring day and the temperature was very pleasant for a wedding held in a venue that didn’t have any walls. I loved the look of the chapel and my ability to move around without feeling like I was disturbing people during the wedding.

The wedding party was each in a different color and some wore rainbow ties and shoes. There were several April Fools jokes that Crystal and Melissa pulled on her guests and wedding party. During the ceremony, the ring bearer brought his ring box and the couple extracted a red and green ring-pop. After the laughs died down, the couple exchanged the pops for their real rings.

Crystal and Melissa started their reception with a sweet first dance to SONG. Later in the evening, the couple gave their son’s the outfits they were to wear for their mother/son dance. The men proudly wore their lei and grass skirts for the dance where they switched partners half-way through Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s version of Over the Rainbow.

Throughout the night, wedding guests applied rainbow temporary tattoos to each other, they danced, signed a guitar instead of a guest book and enjoyed rainbow cupcakes and cake.

What a beautiful wedding! Congratulations to Crystal & Melissa!!

Joseph & Jordan’s Art Industrial Houston Wedding

It was a surprisingly pleasant summer evening in Downtown Houston when Joseph & Jordan said their vows. The intimate industrial venue was located between one of the U of H campuses and the Saint Arnold Brewery just north of Downtown Houston.

The venue was decorated in greenery and succulents, my favorite part. The wooden alter was made by Jordan’s father. After their wedding, the couple will turn it into an entertainment center. I thought this was a really smart and creative way to reuse wood (which is SO EXPENSIVE right now) and to keep a part of their wedding with them always.

The wedding was a small, friends and family affair. A friend got ordained to marry them. Friends helped serve food, drinks and cut and serve the cake.

What a beautiful wedding. I’m so thankful to have been able to capture it. Congratulations to the happy couple!
