Kleb Woods Engagement Portraits

Arnold and Maritza’s engagement portraits in Kleb Woods.

It was a gorgeous spring day when I met up with Arnold, Maritza and her two daughters. We decided to take a combination of engagement portraits and family portraits, because of course the girls are a big part of the wedding. This was my first time exploring Kleb woods. There were old structures around the main part of the forest and trails that lead all around the park.

We chose a path that lead to a small lake. Unfortunately, we also found so many mosquitos on the path. I was thankful for my AllTrails app to let us know where we were on the path and how far away from the main area we were.

The engagement portrait session was filled with laughter, smiles and of course mosquito dodging.

Payton & Katlyn’s Brewery Engagement Portraits

Payton and Katlyn chose to explore a new brewery both in location and taste buds for their engagement portraits. It was a gorgeous afternoon when I met them at Walking Stick Brewery, North of 610. I loved the contrast of the metal and old machinery against the fresh hydrangea bouquets placed on every table and the winter wonderland like sculpture affixed to the ceiling.

I loved getting to see the couple goof off and truly be themselves in front of the camera. I asked them to do some crazy stuff, and they didn’t even blink an eye… maybe they’re born with it, or maybe it was the liquid courage?

Vincent & Melanie’s Hermann Park Engagement Photos

Vincent and Melanie chose to have their engagement photos out around the Hermann park area. They brought their furbaby, Rolley along for the ride. The day was beautiful and Rollie was so adorable with his bow tie!

I took their engagement portraits around the reflection pond at Hermann Park then we went into the Japanese garden to take a couple of shots there. We ended the engagement portrait session around the back side of the park wondering under the amazing canopies of trees and man-made hills.

Vincent and Melanie were super cute. I loved how much fun they had and all of the amazing laughs!

I love taking engagement portraits with furbabies!

Menil Collection engagement portraits

Brad & Jenny’s engagement photos at the Menil Collection grounds

I have lived almost my entire life here in Houston and I have never, until recently, even known about the gorgeous Menil collection grounds. Jenny suggested the location for their engagement photos. There was so much to see in the area. I’m also a sucker for old oak trees, especially ones who’s branches touch the ground.

At the end of this week, Brad and Jenny will marry. Happy wedding week to this amazing couple!

Downtown Houston Engagement Photos

Preston & Olivia’s Downtown Houston Engagement Portraits.

The streets were calm as people made their way to and from the city. I met Preston & Olivia near what I thought was an apartment complex nestled inside the city, but was actually a hip looking office building.

After I got in trouble for climbing a cute spiral staircase, we took a couple of photos on the only spots we were allowed to stand on then made our way toward the large structure that housed the House of Blues, a dueling piano bar, blowing alley and so much more. There were so many great angles and murals all around us.

We were gifted with a breathtaking sunset as we ended our engagement portraits on top a parking garage. See the gorgeous engagement photos below.

Troy & Hailee’s Galveston Beach Engagement Portraits

As we reach into summer, I find myself spending more and more time at the beach for engagement portraits. Every time I try to take photos somewhere else, both myself and my clients are drenched in sweat by the end of it. There’s something about the ocean breeze and sand between your toes to make you feel better.

I met Troy and Hailee at Stewart Beach in Galveston just before sunset. We chatted about life, wedding plans, twins, and crabs. Troy pointed out some crabs while we were taking photos and even captured a sand crab at the end of the night as we were walking back to our cars.

Leighton & Heather’s Galveston Engagement Portraits

There is a unique place as your heading out to Galveston that I have wanted to stop at and take photos for a while now. I was so excited when Leighton and Heather agreed to be my guinea pigs. So, before heading to the beach, I met up with the couple at the marshes.

When we got to the beach, I found out that Leighton & Heather could dance. When I say dance, I mean intense quasi-acrobatic swing-dancing. They showed me their sweet, sweet dance moves (which I captured) then we walked down to the jetties, which I’ve been intrigued about for a while now. There, I got into some trouble with the lifeguard because I kept standing where I wasn’t supposed to stand, and I asked Leighton and Heather to stand where they weren’t supposed to… who knew there were so many rules around the jetties?
