A Memorable Session with Kriti & Rohan

In April, I had the pleasure of photographing Kriti and Rohan’s engagement session at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Their session was filled with bright, fun, and unique moments that truly showcased their love and personalities.

Bright and Colorful Shots: Kriti and Rohan chose outfits that popped against the park’s greenery and skyline. Their vibrant attire, combined with the park’s natural beauty, resulted in photos that were both lively and visually striking.

Fun and Playful Moments: From playful whispers to candid laughter, Kriti and Rohan’s session was full of joy. The open spaces of the park allowed them to move freely, creating genuine and spontaneous moments that I captured through my lens.

Unique Locations: We took advantage of the park’s diverse scenery, from the dramatic skyline views to the serene waters of the bayou. Each location provided a different backdrop, adding variety and uniqueness to their engagement album.

Personal Touches: Kriti and Rohan brought along a few personal items, like a colorful picnic blanket and their favorite drinks, to incorporate into their photos. These personal touches added a special and intimate element to the session, making the photos even more meaningful.

Midtown Houston Engagement Photos

Caleb & Taylor’s Midtown Houston Engagement Portraits.

It was a warm December day when I met Caleb & Taylor at the old Black Labrador location which(I didn’t know until I got there) is now a part of the University of St. Thomas. We wondered around the location, sad that the colorful doors were all a bold black against the brick. There was a puddle in the parking lot that I was excited to use for some creative ideas.

After taking photos around the building, we headed over a block or two to the Menil collection park. Caleb and Taylor attempted a swing attached to an old oak tree and hid in the old oak tree.

Vincent & Melanie’s Hermann Park Engagement Photos

Vincent and Melanie chose to have their engagement photos out around the Hermann park area. They brought their furbaby, Rolley along for the ride. The day was beautiful and Rollie was so adorable with his bow tie!

I took their engagement portraits around the reflection pond at Hermann Park then we went into the Japanese garden to take a couple of shots there. We ended the engagement portrait session around the back side of the park wondering under the amazing canopies of trees and man-made hills.

Vincent and Melanie were super cute. I loved how much fun they had and all of the amazing laughs!

I love taking engagement portraits with furbabies!

Why you Should Consider Going Formal for your Engagement Portraits

Engagement portraits are fun and exciting for me to shoot and for my couples to experience. I love getting to see how the couples interact with each other and their elements. What I love even more, is getting to see their choice of fashion. Everyone is different. Some are old souls at heart, some are super glamorous and others are whimsical.

Today I wanted to talk about why I think getting glammed up for your engagement photography session is a good idea.

  1. You can dress casually any day for any regular photos. Think about all of the photos you’ve been in with friends and family. You’re engagement photos are a once-in-a-lifetime thing and they should stand out from the photos you’ve taken together before.
  2. It’s a special time in your life and you should take out all the stops so you can celebrate it at its fullest. You could even go to a nice restaurant once you’re done with your photos to continue the love-fest.
  3. Engagement photos sets the tone for your wedding and your wedding guests. Are you having a black-tie wedding? Maybe you’re having a country-formal wedding. Either way, try to immolate your wedding dress code so your guests know what to expect.
  4. Dressing up increases your confidence in your ability to pose for photos. There’s something so empowering about being dressed to the nines and posing in front of a camera.
