A Memorable Session with Kriti & Rohan

In April, I had the pleasure of photographing Kriti and Rohan’s engagement session at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Their session was filled with bright, fun, and unique moments that truly showcased their love and personalities.

Bright and Colorful Shots: Kriti and Rohan chose outfits that popped against the park’s greenery and skyline. Their vibrant attire, combined with the park’s natural beauty, resulted in photos that were both lively and visually striking.

Fun and Playful Moments: From playful whispers to candid laughter, Kriti and Rohan’s session was full of joy. The open spaces of the park allowed them to move freely, creating genuine and spontaneous moments that I captured through my lens.

Unique Locations: We took advantage of the park’s diverse scenery, from the dramatic skyline views to the serene waters of the bayou. Each location provided a different backdrop, adding variety and uniqueness to their engagement album.

Personal Touches: Kriti and Rohan brought along a few personal items, like a colorful picnic blanket and their favorite drinks, to incorporate into their photos. These personal touches added a special and intimate element to the session, making the photos even more meaningful.

Downtown Houston Engagement

Andres & Leticia’s Eleanor Tinsley Park Engagement Portraits.

Eleanor Tinsley is such a versatile place to take your engagement photos. I love that you can see both the city skyline as well as ancient oak trees and unique statues and water features in the park.

I met Andrew & Leticia near Waugh bridge on a beautiful day in spring last year. We walked a bit of a circle around Buffalo Bayou trying out parts of the park I hadn’t visited yet. I didn’t know there was a dog park there or so many awesome bridges.

Downtown Houston Engagement Portraits

James & Chelsea’s showed me the hidden haunts and gem’s of Houston during their engagement portraits this April. I love this city. It’s crazy that you can live here your whole life and still learn new things. I am slightly obsessed with learning about haunted sites and (though I knew of some of them) loved hearing the details about the haunted places downtown.

Our second stop (just after the “Houston is Inspired” mural) was the La Carafe Bar, one of the most haunted bars in Houston. As we made our way to the second floor to take some balcony photos, Chelsea was telling me about the ghost who likes to push women down the stairs. Needless to say, I was white-knuckling the handrails & still managed to slip on something at the top of the stairs.

After the bar, I took James and Chelsea to a little baby waterfall I discovered hiding under the street level along the Buffalo Bayou, then we headed to the place James & Chelsea had their first date. Unfortunately, COVID took it down, so we were only able to take photos around the building.

We ended up back along the waters edge where the haunted Spaghetti Warehouse is located (which is now replaced with a bar). We walked along the water then up to the Sunset Coffee Building and lastly to a colorful bar across the street.

I must tell you, as I was writing about the haunted spaghetti Warehouse building, something pushed over Andy’s golf clubs upstairs (everyone was downstairs at the time). Everyone freaked out. I told Andy the ghosts must have read my blog and decided to let me know they’re watching…

Carrie & Jeremy’s Downtown Houston Engagement Portraits

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of stealing Jeremy & Carrie’s sole, I mean taking their engagement photos (wink) at a downtown Houston bar.

It was the day after valentines day and Carrie and Jeremy were celebrating the holiday that day. Carrie bought Jeremy a new Astros jersey to wear for the engagement portraits and Jeremy’s brother was there to sneak around in the background of our photos. I love the goofy vibe I got from the two as I was taking their photos.

Jeremy told me he was uncomfortable in front of cameras, which I totally understand. At one point he joked that every shutter click was causing him pain. I asked if I was stealing his sole, he joked that I was just a little bit every time, though Carrie has been steeling his sole just a little bit with her picture taking too. lol

How did they meet?

We both worked at a bar and I yelled at him the first time I met him. Then he invited me up for drinks one night, he will tell you he went for a high 5 instead of a kiss, but after that the rest was history.

It was only fitting that we were able to take Jermey & Carrie’s engagement portraits in a bar in downtown Houston. I had so much fun exploring the bar and it’s surroundings all while learning more about Jeremy and Carrie. Jeremy is a HUGE Astros fan, so we were able to incorporate some baseball into their photos. I love that Jeremy and Carrie recreated their first kiss for me to photograph.

Thanks for the fun and laughs, Jeremy & Carrie.
