Nathan & Deanna’s Antique Rose Engagement Portraits

It was a stunning spring afternoon when I met up with Nathan & Deanna at the Antique Rose Emporium in Brenham. We were in the height of bluebonnet season and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.

We walked around the gorgeous grounds of the emporium snapping cute shots among the roses and under natural arches. Some of my favorite spots, though were on the wooden porch. I absolutely loved the location the couple chose and was happy we could even get a few photos in some bluebonnets.

Gabe & Katy’s White Oaks on the Bayou Wedding Photography

On a warm spring day, Gabe and Katy got married under swaying chiffon as the Texas sun was setting. It was such a romantic and magical wedding to photograph. The birds were chirping, there was a slight breeze and the sun was setting perfectly behind the happy couple.

One of my favorite wedding photography moments is the first-looks. I love the raw emotion that I capture during first-looks, and Katy had two! One with her Father and one with Gabe. The moments were so special to capture.

Some of my favorite parts of their wedding were taking photos of the joyful couple on the swing after the sun had set and seeing all of the sweet, sweet dance moves. So many guests were really cutting rugs that night.

Ben & Jen’s Flawless Farm Wedding

A country wedding for the ages

Hours before Ben & Jen were scheduled to stay their vows, omonus clouds darkened the sky with streaks of lightning that danced across the sky and thunder that jarred the ground beneath my feet. What a way for an outdoor, country wedding to start.

As I arrived at the farm, the rain had softened to a constant drizzle, which was an improvement from the torrential downpour. A pasture filled with sheep and two donkeys greeted me as I entered the property. According to the owner, donkeys are the perfect animal to keep coyotes away (you learn something new every day).

The couple was supposed to get married under a tree on the property, but had to shift to a location under  a covered patio because of the rain. miraculously, the rain completely stopped and the sun shone through the clouds right as the wedding started.

Marry Me by Train started on the speakers as Jennifer walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father. Her dress was simple, yet so elegant. Also, it had pockets y’all. Pockets!!

Ben & Jen said their vows under a handmade arch on the first official day of fall. Though the leaves were not turning orange and yellow (and no one expects they ever will) and thanks to the recent rain storm, the temperature was a comfortable 80-ish, it was a stunning fall wedding.

This was both Ben & Jen’s second marriage. They each have 2 children from a previous marriage and a son together. Jennifer’s beautiful girls stood as bridesmaids, their dusty rose lace dresses looked perfect with their simple straight hair. Ben’s boys were such handsome groomsmen in their sky blue button up shirts and navy bow ties.

The reception moved to the inside of the farm house where twinkle lights, votive’s and country chic decorations adjourned the tables and walls. The whole wedding was pulled together by “the village” friends and family decorated and cooked. One of Jennifer’s best friends did her makeup. Her other best friend supplied the stunning farm property and put her husband to work while she helped get Jennifer ready and Ben’s father officiated the wedding.

Dallis’s Backyard Bridal Session

Happy wedding day to Dallis & Trey!

The day has finally arrived.

Dallis came down for the weekend (a month ago) from Lafayette for her gorgeous dusk bridal session at her fathers home in Damon, Texas where she has now just tied the knot.

There is something so fun and natural about taking photos in the comfort of your home.

I had so much fun taking photos of Dallis (and her brother). Her family came in from Louisiana and parts of Houston to help out, and they were such a big help. I absolutely love it when friends and family get involved and help with posing and to make the subject smile.

One thing that made my jaw drop, her Grandmother and Aunt made her wedding dress. First off, it is an amazing dress in by itself with the baby pink color and that dip in the front and the back (which looked stunning on Dallis), but to hear that her Grandmother made it just blew my mind.

We took portraits around the backyard of her Fathers property, right were she and Trey just got married. I loved the old moss covered oak trees, the fallen tree wrapped in lights and who could forget about that swing! What an amazing place to take photos. What an amazing place to get married.
