It’s officially summer (in 2 days), and you know what that means.
Sweat stains, mosquito’s, and broken AC’s
Margaritas by the pool, fun at the beach and summer-time weddings!
Summer weddings in Houston can be a little tricky, but a lot of fun if you follow a few simple rules.
- Please, please, please do not have an outdoor wedding at high-noon in the middle of summer. Summer outdoor weddings in Houston can be really beautiful and tolerable closer to dusk, but stifling closer to noon.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- AstroTurf traps heat. It could be 80 degrees in the shade, but 160 in the middle of the turf.
- Concrete reflects light & heat.
- Consider a wedding under ancient oak trees.
- Make sure you have a nearby facility with AC & cool drinks on hand.
- Offer fans or umbrellas to your guests for your ceremony (if you are having an outdoor wedding).
- Have a sunscreen & mosquito spray station.
